Azerbaijani Man Blows Up on Mine in Kovsakan
An employee of the Azerbaijani mine clearance agency (ANAMA) and a subordinate officer of the State Border Service have blown up on a mine in Kovsakan (Zangelan). This information has been reported by Sputnik Azerbaijan, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
The ANAMA employee, Vagif Babaev (born in 1972), and Border Service subordinate officer Renat Aghababayev (born in 1999) detonated the mine on November 19 during ammunition search operations.
They sustained injuries of varying degrees. Reports indicate that Babaev is in extremely critical condition.
An investigation is underway at the prosecutor's office regarding the incident.
