I Naturally Have No Comment on the Surrender of Charentsavan: Tunyans
During a series of interviews in the National Assembly, we asked Babken Tunyans, a non-member of the ruling Civil Contract faction who frequently discusses issues related to property cadastral values in the Economic Issues Committee, whether it is possible to evaluate our homeland and the cities of our country based on cadastral value. This was reported by hraparak.am.
We reminded him of the statement made by the leader of his team, Nikol Pashinyan, that no residential buildings have been constructed in Shushi in the last 30 years. This raises the question: if no bankable buildings have been built in any city, can that city be surrendered? Today, in many cities, for example, Charentsavan, no residential buildings have been constructed, perhaps because there has been no need to replenish the housing stock in those cities. Does this mean that Charentsavan could be surrendered as well, since no residential buildings have been built there?
“We certainly do not measure our homeland by its cadastral values, nor has anyone made such a claim or harbors such a notion about the homeland. It must be noted that the love for the homeland is not expressed solely through speeches and toasts, but also by making that homeland more prosperous. This can be measured by certain indicators, including the amount of investments, the cadastral values you mentioned, and others,” Tunyans said.
He then addressed the issue of Charentsavan specifically, stating, “Naturally, I have no comment regarding the surrender of Charentsavan.”
