Implementation of Glass, Plastic, and Metal Container Return System in Armenia
The Deputy Minister of Environment, Anna Mazmanyan, is leading a delegation on a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania, invited by the Management Agency of Environmental Programs of the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment. The delegation is participating in a training visit under the program for the development of the Sustainable Management System for Glass and Plastic Waste.
During this trip, the delegation, which includes representatives from the ministries of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Economics, and the Yerevan Municipality, has been acquainted with the mechanisms of the return (deposit) system for glass, plastic, and metal containers. They visited the administrator and calculation center of the Deposit System to learn about the operating mechanisms in place.
Opportunities for the system's implementation in Armenia were discussed during the visit.
