Moscow Welcomes Joe Biden's Statements, Lavrov
The statements made by U.S. President Joe Biden about it being time to stop interfering in the affairs of other countries are positive, and Moscow welcomes such an approach, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Wednesday.
Sputnik Armenia reports: “It is a very interesting moment, which was noted by both U.S. President Biden and French President Macron. They both effectively made statements one or two days apart, saying that it is time to 'take a breather'—forgive me for this expression—and to cease interfering in the affairs of other countries in order to impose their Western-style democracy,” Lavrov said during a meeting with students of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
“We welcome such statements. We have long called for lessons to be learned from the adventures that our Western partners undertook over the past decades,” the minister noted.
“I hope that if these statements reflect conclusions formed as a result of suffering, the world will be a little more peaceful in the future,” Lavrov added.
