Russia Will Not Allow the Armenian People to Be Humiliated Without Consequence on Their Historic Land: Zatulin
Konstantin Zatulin, a deputy elected from Sochi in the State Duma of Russia, and the first deputy chairman of the Duma's Committee on Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, has sent a greeting letter to the participants of the "ПроАрцах" forum. This was reported by Hraparak.
“Dear participants of the forum, I congratulate you and the Republic of Artsakh on gathering together today despite all obstacles. If you remember, I had the honor of expressing my views on your forum regarding the independence of Artsakh a few years ago. I believe that the war in Artsakh last year should not have occurred, and the Russian and Armenian peoples lost much due to that bloody confrontation. Of course, not equally, but Stepanakert, Yerevan, and the whole world should know that worried Russia will not allow the Armenian people to be humiliated without consequence on their historic land. The guarantee of this is the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh.
I deeply regret that I cannot participate in your forum this time, as the electoral campaign in my Sochi district has entered a more responsible phase. However, my thoughts are with you. I hope that after the elections, my first foreign trip will be to Armenia and Artsakh.”
