Two Minors Among Three Dead in Car Accident; Criminal Case Initiated
On August 26, 2021, around 6:30 PM, a collision occurred between vehicles driven by local residents, specifically an 'Iveco' and a 'Mercedes Benz', at the beginning of Nor Geghi in the Kotayk region. As a result of the crash, the driver and a passenger born on November 20, 2004, of the 'Mercedes Benz' died at the scene, while two other passengers of the same vehicle, born on March 7, 2006, and October 24, 2007, were taken to the hospital, where the latter died without regaining consciousness.
This information was disclosed by the Investigative Committee. A criminal case has been initiated at the Nor investigation division of the Kotayk regional investigative department under Part 3 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code.
Investigations of the scene and the vehicles involved have been conducted, and preliminary data indicates that the collision occurred in the lane designated for the 'Mercedes Benz'. Forensic medical examinations and post-mortem examinations have been appointed during the preliminary investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and measures are being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the incident and ensure an objective and comprehensive examination.
