Azerbaijanis Have Not Only Not Withdrawn But Have Increased Their Contingent: Nairi Hokhikyan
Interethnic conflict expert Nairi Hokhikyan wrote on his Facebook page: “With various sensational news and statements, the authorities and the media serving them are trying to make the presence of Azerbaijani armed forces in Syunik and Gegharkunik forgotten. I would like to remind you that since May 12, Azerbaijani soldiers, who have moved more than 3.5 km forward in the area of the Great Ishkhanasar and the Black Lake in Syunik, continue to remain in the same location. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements that the Azerbaijanis or part of them have withdrawn do not correspond to reality.
Azerbaijanis have not only not withdrawn but have also increased their contingent against the backdrop of our silence and already tolerating their presence, keeping the Sisian-Goris highway and the city of Goris under observation. I reiterate that the enemy's troops must necessarily withdraw at least to their original positions; otherwise, Goris will always be under threat, and traveling from Sisian to other settlements in Syunik and Artsakh will become dangerous.
Instead of deceiving the public, misleading them, and distracting them with various statements, the government of the Republic of Armenia must take all measures to remove the enemy from our strategic territories.”
