38-Year-Old Witness to Murder in Hrazdan Gorge Found Dead Days Later
For over five hours, the rescue teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police have been searching for the body of 38-year-old Edgar A., who went missing on March 7 of this year, in the Hrazdan gorge near the Hrazdan River, covering a 1.5 km area. In connection with the criminal case launched regarding his murder, on March 22, police, rescuers, and investigators discovered a man’s body in Lake Yerevan, who, according to reliable information from sources, had witnessed the murder of a man from Kapan near the St. Sarkis Church, after which the murderers killed this witness as well, according to shamshyan.com.
Currently, the police and rescuers are continuing the search operations for the deceased Kapan resident in the Hrazdan gorge and are undertaking the necessary operational-investigative and investigative joint actions to identify the witness who witnessed the murder and was later killed.
Earlier, it was reported that on March 22, Yerevan resident 54-year-old Janik V., 31-year-old Armen U. from Hrazdan, 35-year-old Samvel P. without a permanent residence, and 28-year-old Tatul M. from Aragatsotn region were arrested. They are suspected of murdering Edgar A., a Kapan resident who had been missing since March 7, 2020.
On March 10, Satine B. contacted the Shengavit police department and reported that her brother, Edgar A., had gone missing near the Garzadan Metro in Yerevan on the evening of March 7. On the same day, officers from the criminal investigation units of the Yerevan Police, Shengavit, Malatya, and central police departments began search operations, and on March 19, the individuals mentioned above were detained on suspicion of murdering Edgar A., during which one of them confessed to the incident.
According to sources, the altercation took place in the Hrazdan gorge near the St. Sarkis Church, after which Edgar A.'s body was thrown into the river, and later it was discovered in Lake Yerevan.
