VIDEO: A New Batch of #Starlink Satellites Launched into Space
On March 11, the Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Florida, carrying a batch of 60 Starlink internet satellites, with SpaceX providing a live stream of the event.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 03:13 local time. The launch had previously been postponed.
Starlink is a next-generation satellite network designed to provide widespread internet access to residents on Earth. The project was initiated in February 2018, aiming to deliver high-speed internet access to any point on the planet.
In the first phase of the network's creation, around 12,000 satellites are planned to be launched. The company has already begun testing the internet service among regular users. For equipment that enables signal reception and transmission, a payment of $499 is required, with a monthly subscription fee of $99, which is comparable to or even less than the charges imposed by major providers in the United States.
The manufacturer promises download speeds ranging from 50 to 150 Mbps.
