Protest Participants Meet with Tavush Governor
Participants of a protest that blocked the Novemberyan-Yerevan road have met with Tavush Governor Hayk Chobanyan. This information was confirmed to Sputnik Armenia by the press service of the regional government.
The total number of those present at the meeting is approximately 10-15. It should be noted that earlier today, they had closed the Novemberyan-Yerevan road, demanding a meeting with Chobanyan. The main reason for the protest and the meeting is concern regarding the situation at the border with Azerbaijan.
As previously reported, there was information circulated earlier on social media and various news outlets indicating that around 500 Russian peacekeepers and Azerbaijanis were conducting measurements along the border in several villages of the Tavush region. This information was later denied by the defense ministry.
However, the flow of various and contradictory information regarding this section of the border continues unabated.
