No Need for a Fake Mediator: Another Denial from the Presidential Office
The Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia has denied information circulated by certain media outlets claiming that President Armen Sarkissian sent a mediator to persuade Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan to resign.
The statement released by the Public Relations Department of the Presidential Office is as follows: “Certain media outlets have spread yet another piece of disinformation, claiming that President Armen Sarkissian sent a mediator to Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan to persuade him to resign. We reiterate that this information is an obvious falsehood and does not correspond to reality at all. President Sarkissian and Onik Gasparyan meet and talk as necessary, about which official information is provided. Therefore, there is no need for any mediator, especially not a fake mediator. We once again urge to refrain from disseminating blatant false information,” the statement reads.
