Irresponsible Decisions and Actions May Lead to Disaster: Prosecutor's Office Statement
The risks posed by the statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia on February 25, along with the discussions and comments circulating on public and social platforms, have created preconditions for internal public and political destabilization in the Republic. The potential developments, alongside reckless decisions and actions, could lead to unpredictable and disastrous consequences in terms of our state and people's security, presenting serious threats to the rule of law and constitutional order.
This was stated in a declaration issued by the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia. The statement also notes: "In light of the above, the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia calls on everyone to remain within the framework of the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and to refrain from irresponsible actions, avoiding any initiative that threatens the rule of law in the country, as well as any unlawful attempts to involve the armed forces in processes outside their constitutional functions and any actions directed against public order. We urge everyone to not permit actions prohibited by criminal law and to act with reason and composure.
We call on servicemen tasked with safeguarding national security, as well as all citizens, to demonstrate lawful and conscientious behavior. The Prosecutor's Office warns that any instigation of unlawful or unconstitutional processes, regardless of the perpetrator, will be subject to the strictest legal evaluations and pursued to the full force and rigor of the law. The Prosecutor's Office will strive to maintain the rule of law in the country and hold accountable those responsible for any possible criminal manifestations.
