Fog and Black Ice: Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads throughout the territory of Armenia.
The Berd-Jambarak road is closed, and the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to Amberd Fortress and to Kar Lake are also closed.
The Vardenyats mountain pass is closed for trailer trucks.
In Shirak province, roads have patches of black ice, and in Syunik province, fog has settled in Goris city.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for passenger vehicles, but closed for other types of transport. There are about 615 backed-up trucks on the Russian side.
