Urgent Issues in the Syunik Region Require Immediate Resolution: Tigran Abrahamyan

Director of the Analytical Center 'Henaket' Tigran Abrahamyan writes:

“No agreement, document, or international guarantee with Azerbaijan will ensure the security of Syunik if the border with Azerbaijan is not secured by necessary safety systems. The geographical position, significance, relief, and the fact that Azerbaijan is encroaching on the area force us to seek non-standard security solutions—from the deployment of technical measures to the establishment of mobile units that have undergone appropriate training. All solutions in the Syunik region must be planned across various time frames, and certain issues require urgent resolution.”
