Lavrov Tells Armenians in Private Conversations: If You Are Giving Up Your Lands, Why Should We Be Against It?
According to the newspaper "Hraparak", the latest leaked document concerns the handover of a 21-kilometer section of the Goris-Davit Bek road to Azerbaijan. Though this document does not explicitly state this, it is stipulated in the bilateral agreement that the section should be utilized by both Armenia and Azerbaijan for approximately three years, with Russian peacekeepers guaranteeing its safe use. During these three years, the Armenian side is expected to construct a bypass road within its territory, after which the 21 kilometers will be fully transferred to Azerbaijan.
This agreement was reached with the direct participation of the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Minister of Defense. Well-informed sources indicate that particularly Vahe Harutyunyan is the proponent of fulfilling all the adversary's demands and shows no resistance, which has even surprised the Russian side.
Our sources report that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has even stated in private conversations with Armenians: "If you are giving up your lands, why should we be against it? The decision is yours." More details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
