Road Closures in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are road closures in the territory of Armenia.
In the Aragatsotn region, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats mountain pass is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Dilijan-Vanadzor and Noyemberyan-Jujevan roads, as well as the Dilijan serpentine roads, are closed for cargo vehicles. Roads in the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Tavush regions are difficult to pass.
There are spots of ice on the roads in the Aragatsotn, Shirak, Lori, Armavir, Ararat, and Kotayk regions. Snow is falling in the Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions, as well as in the cities of Charentsavan and Abovyan in the Kotayk region.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Situations Ministry of North Ossetia in Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is only open for passenger vehicles. Additionally, there are currently 820 cargo vehicles waiting on the Russian side.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transportation.
