Russian Fighter Jets Conduct Over 40 Airstrikes in Syria to Clear Road to Deir ez-Zor of Terrorists: SOHR
Activists from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) have reported that Russian fighter jets have carried out airstrikes targeting positions of the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria. According to the observatory's website, Russian aircraft launched more than 40 airstrikes in the areas around Aleppo, Hama, and Raqqa this morning.
At the same time, Syrian government forces continue to conduct airstrikes in the region between Deir ez-Zor and Homs to ensure the security of the road connecting the two provinces. The operations to clear the area of terrorists are being supported by Russian helicopters.
