Stepantsminda-Lars Road Closed Due to Avalanche Danger for All Types of Vehicles

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed.

The M-6 interstate road segment from the Haghpat intersection to the Nakhots section will be closed on January 15 from 1:30 PM until 5:00 PM due to blasting works.

Regarding Lars, according to the information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles due to avalanche danger, and there is a backlog of 100 freight trucks on the Russian side.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transport.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
