Erdogan Registers on Telegram

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has registered on Telegram and BIP messengers after abandoning WhatsApp. This was reported by the Turkish Presidential Office.

Previously, WhatsApp developers updated the user agreement, adding a clause regarding the sharing of personal data with Facebook Corporation. The text of the user agreement states that WhatsApp, as part of Facebook, will share necessary information about the user with the corporation's 'family of applications' to analyze their habits and preferences.

In response, Turkish users, including high-ranking officials, have begun to abandon WhatsApp in large numbers and switch to alternative messengers.
