Telegram Vulnerability: User's Exact Geographical Location Can Be Disclosed

An expert has discovered a method to find the exact geographical location of a Telegram user. According to an independent cybersecurity researcher, individuals using mobile devices on Android (and sometimes iPhone) should be cautious of one of the Telegram messenger's features. Under certain conditions, attackers can determine the precise location of smartphone and tablet owners.

As reported by the StaySecure Telegram channel, information security specialist Ahmed Hasan claims he has notified Telegram developers about the issue, but they are not in a hurry to close the vulnerability for cybercriminals. It turns out that the flaw lies in the People Nearby feature, which allows users to locate people in their vicinity.

By default, this feature is turned off, but there are a number of device owners who are eager to use People Nearby, as it is genuinely a useful tool.
