Russian Boxer Accused of Beating 5-Year-Old Son

A resident of Nizhny Novgorod has accused her boxer husband of beating their five-year-old son, according to РИА Новости, citing the regional prosecutor's office.

Earlier reports stated that the boxer had been regularly bullying the child, allegedly attempting to turn him into an athlete. “Before the New Year, the boy's mother turned to the prosecutor's office, complaining about her husband who beats the child,” officials from the Nizhny Novgorod regional prosecutor's office have stated.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 156 of the Criminal Code for improper fulfillment of parental duties, combined with cruel treatment towards a minor.
