Emergency Situations Ministry Reports Road Closures in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads leading to the Amberd Fortress and Kary Lake in the Aragatsotn province are closed.
There is black ice in places on the Vardenyats Pass and on all roads in the Syunik province. Snow is falling in Talin and Ashtarak cities of Aragatsotn province, in Spitak city of Lori province, in Artik city of Shirak province, in the Akhuryan and Ani regions, and in Yegvard, Charentsavan, and Hrazdan cities of Kotayk province.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
According to information received from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
As per information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in force. The ban does not apply to freight transport.
