What is the Purpose of the Transport Corridor between Nakhichevan?

The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's announcement regarding the intention to construct a transport corridor to Nakhichevan has sparked extensive reactions within Armenian expert circles.

David Babayan, an advisor to the President of the Republic of Artsakh, deems the construction of roads for geopolitical purposes unacceptable, noting that this route is not primarily about connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan but rather about linking Turkey with Azerbaijan and, via the Caspian Sea, with Central Asian countries.

Meanwhile, analyst Emma Begijanyan believes that Armenia, in collaboration with Iran, must prevent the construction of this road.
