Residents from Border Communities Report Provocations by Azerbaijanis: Abrahamyan
The head of the 'Henkak' analytical NGO, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Residents of various border communities in Syunik and Gegharkunik provinces regularly report various provocations by Azerbaijanis. It is evident that due to new realities, several communities in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik have spontaneously assumed the status of border communities, leading to security issues regarding the safe operation of our infrastructure in certain areas.
While the armed forces are carrying out border protection/defense, there is clearly a need to implement additional measures in those communities to ensure the safety of residents. Instead of strengthening police oversight in border communities, the Chief of Police seems to be executing the whims of Nikol Pashinyan. Numerous times similar issues have been raised; however, disregarding the safety concerns of citizens, the police forces are exclusively deployed for the protection of Nikol Pashinyan's private residence and office.
Furthermore, citizens who demand Pashinyan's resignation are unlawfully detained. I want to understand whether there is a problem of comprehension within the police, or if the concealment of Nikol Pashinyan's betrayal is deemed more important than the safety of the residents in our border communities. Does the Chief of Police realize the degree of danger posed by his actions and their consequences?'
