Human Rights Watch Reports Armenian Prisoners Subjected to Violence and Humiliation
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, stated on his Facebook page: "Human Rights Watch has just released a report documenting that Azerbaijani forces have captured numerous ethnic Armenian soldiers. According to the report, Armenian prisoners have been subjected to violence and humiliation. This is evidenced by videos that have been widely circulated on social networks since October.
The organization particularly emphasized that Azerbaijani armed forces have applied coercion with the intent to degrade the Armenian prisoners. During a meeting with Human Rights Watch, I highlighted the atrocities committed by Azerbaijan, stressing that the return of prisoners and the exchange of bodies requires urgent resolution. We continue to present the torture and brutality by Azerbaijani armed forces to international bodies as war crimes. Our goal is to make every effort to support the return of prisoners and the exchange of the bodies of soldiers as soon as possible."
