Lavrov Urges Attention to the Preservation of Artsakh's Cultural Heritage
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has expressed conviction that following the statement regarding Nagorno-Karabakh, special attention should be paid to the preservation of cultural heritage.
“I am convinced that now, as we move toward a peaceful resolution after the cessation of hostilities, the cultural heritage issues of Armenians, Azerbaijanis, and other groups residing in these countries should receive special attention. In general, much needs to be done so that the cultural heritage of both Armenians and Azerbaijanis, which is closely and profoundly historically linked to Artsakh, also becomes a unifying point for the steps that need to be taken. We will, of course, involve UNESCO to restore the values of cultural heritage and ensure respect for them,” said Lavrov in an interview with Russian and foreign media.
