If It Continued Like This, We Would Have Lost All of Artsakh Within Days and Had More Casualties: Harutyunyan
Time will tell what kind of evaluation history will provide, but we had to make yesterday's decision. This statement was made by the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan. According to him, during the 43 days, the regions of Fizuli, Jabrail, Kubatlu, and Zangezur, primarily the Hadrut region, parts of Martuni and Askeran, and most importantly, Shushi, fell.
“The battles were taking place near Stepanakert, just two or three kilometers away,” he noted. “If it continued like this, we would have lost all of Artsakh within days and had more casualties.”
He stated that the consequences would have become irreversible. The President added that he does not even want to speak about what would have happened to the soldiers in Askeran if we had lost Stepanakert.
