Sotk-Karvachar Highway Remains Closed for Safety Reasons

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that roads within the territory of Armenia are accessible. However, due to safety considerations for citizens, the Sotk-Karvachar highway is closed.

According to information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open only for freight transportation due to the state of emergency.

According to the information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transport.
