We Call for Restraint from Targeting Civilian Settlements: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, held a weekly briefing where she addressed the escalating tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
“We urge both sides to exercise restraint, as well as to avoid shelling civilian settlements, and not to allow interference from external forces. It is necessary to practically achieve a ceasefire, ease tensions, and restore negotiations aimed at a peaceful resolution based on fundamental principles,” stated Maria Zakharova.
She noted that in this regard, Russian President Vladimir Putin held discussions with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 1 and 2. Zakharova mentioned that the topic was also discussed among the Russian Foreign Minister, the Deputy Foreign Minister, and foreign counterparts.
