Spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Shelling of Stepanakert and Shushi
On November 3, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan targeted the civilian infrastructure of the cities of Stepanakert and Shushi using cluster bombs from the "Smerch" missile system. Strikes were particularly directed toward the maternal and child health care center in Stepanakert. There are casualties reported.
The continuous targeting of medical facilities in Stepanakert by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces once again highlights the strategic objective of Azerbaijan's military-political leadership to inflict maximum casualties on the civilian population of Artsakh, especially women and children who are far from the frontline.
This is yet another manifestation of state terrorism being conducted by a state that has already become a hub for international terrorists and militants in the South Caucasus, largely due to Turkey's efforts.
We note that under the existential threats faced by the people of Artsakh, the authorities and the Defense Army of Artsakh have the inalienable right to protect their own population and respond to the enemy.
