France Officially Bans Turkish Nationalist 'Grey Wolves' Activities
The Ambassador of France to Armenia, Mr. Jonathan Lacôte, informed during a meeting with the Republic of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan that the activities of the Turkish nationalist group 'Grey Wolves' would officially be banned in France.
“Today, the activities of the Turkish nationalist 'Grey Wolves' will officially be banned in France. I was informed about this important decision today by the Ambassador of France to Armenia, Mr. Jonathan Lacôte. During the meeting, I presented evidence of the atrocities and cruelties committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces against peaceful residents, including the use of prohibited cluster munitions and chemical elements, and the mass destruction of civilian infrastructure.
I expressed my condolences to the people of France regarding the terrorist act that took place at the Notre-Dame de Nice and conveyed to the ambassador my concerns about recent hate-based actions against ethnic Armenians in France, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety and protection of the rights of Armenians.
The French Ambassador, J. Lacôte, strongly condemned incidents of vandalism and attacks against individuals of Armenian descent and informed that today, the Council of Ministers of France has decided to ban the activities of the Turkish nationalist 'Grey Wolves' (Bozkurt) organization due to its extreme nationalist activities and the attacks on ethnic Armenian citizens and Armenian nationals in France over the past week, calling for the incitement of hatred.
It is a well-known fact that, just as during the April War in 2016, the tortures, atrocities, and cruelties carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces in Artsakh are conducted by the members of the Turkish 'Grey Wolves' organization or executed using their methods. I sincerely thanked the ambassador for this crucial decision,” the statement read from the RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan.
