Putin Reveals Conditions for Russian Forces to Enter Belarus
Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined the circumstances under which Russian forces would enter Belarus, where massive protests have erupted just weeks after the presidential elections. This was stated by the leader in an interview with «Россия 24».
According to Putin, a reserve of law enforcement personnel has been formed at the request of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, which will be deployed to assist the Soviet republic if necessary. He noted, “But we have also agreed that it will not be used as long as the situation remains under control. As long as extremist elements, hiding behind political slogans, do not cross certain lines and descend into outright banditry.”
The Wargonzo Telegram channel, citing its sources in the general staff, has also reported that the reserve created by the president includes special operations forces from the Russian Armed Forces. According to the television channel, the forces have been preparing to move to Minsk for over a week and are currently on standby.
