VIDEO: Theater Actors and Journalists in Belarus Submit Resignation Requests

The Minister of Culture of Belarus, Yuri Bondar, arrived today at the Yanka Kupala National Theatre, where employees submitted resignation requests to him, demanding the return of the dismissed former director Pavel Latushko, reports tut.by.

According to the media outlet, theatre employees stated that if their demands are not met and the director is not reinstated, the minister has until 10 AM on August 19 to submit his resignation.

It has also been reported that the Ministry of Information of Belarus dismissed Pavel Sukhorukov, the chief editor of the state publication 'Zvyazda', after which the entire staff of the publication also submitted resignation requests. One of the newspaper’s employees stated that journalists want to write the truth about the current situation in the country.

It was noted that later, the Minister of Information Igor Lutsky visited the newspaper's employees.
