The Number of Armenians Killed in the Beirut Explosion Reaches 3
Lebanese media have reported on the death of Jessica Bejzhyan, who was at her workplace in the Roum Hospital during the explosion at the Beirut port.
According to Armenpress, the newspaper "Arachnal" reports that she was a nurse and, according to media sources, was trapped under a collapsed ceiling. The hospital is located in the Ashrafieh district and is very close to the Beirut port, where a powerful explosion occurred on August 4.
Jessica Bejzhyan was a graduate of the Mesrobian Armenian School in Lebanon and a member of the Lebanese Nurses Association.
Earlier information had circulated about the death of Lebanese-Armenian figure Nazar Najarian due to the explosion. The Lebanese newspaper "Azdak" reports that among the casualties of the explosion is another Armenian, Jacques Paramakian.
