‘Joghobot’. Suspension of Certain Activities Related to ‘Citizen’s Day’ Events
‘Joghobot’ newspaper reports that the government has suspended several activities aimed at organizing events for ‘Citizen’s Day’. As it is known, since last year, April 26 of each year is designated as ‘Citizen’s Day’.
On February 28, procurement procedures were announced for cultural event organization services. These included, for example, graphic design services and cultural event organization services. However, these tender processes have been annulled, and the government has provided several justifications.
Firstly, the decision emphasizes that a state of emergency has been declared from March 16 starting at 18:30 until April 14, 2020, inclusive. Based on this fact and also that according to the law on ‘Procurement Procedures’, the service delivery term must be set at least 20 calendar days, it is necessary to declare the procedures cancelled on the basis of the cessation of the procurement requirement, as organizing the events within the timeline is not feasible.
