Two Checkpoints for Georgian Citizens in Armenia and Azerbaijan
Georgian citizens located in Armenia and Azerbaijan will be able to enter the country only through the “Sadakhlo” and “Red Bridge” checkpoints. This decision was made today during a meeting of the Interagency Coordinating Council chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, according to ‘Georgia Online.’
“At this stage, it has been decided that entry for travelers who are Georgian citizens will only be possible through the ‘Sadakhlo’ checkpoint adjacent to Armenia, while cargo transport will be carried out smoothly through all checkpoints. This restriction will also apply to the existing checkpoints with Azerbaijan. Cargo will be transported without interruption, while entry for Georgian citizens will only be possible through the ‘Red Bridge’ checkpoint,” the statement from the Government Administration of Georgia reads.
As noted, the corresponding decision was made after assessing the epidemic situation in the country and consulting with representatives from the healthcare sector. Earlier, it was reported that as of March 22, there are 54 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia, with 3 individuals already considered recovered.
