Serious Accident Occurs Due to Black Ice; Injuries Reported

On February 16, a traffic accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 11:15 PM, the driver of a Mercedes with license plate 36 QF 368 lost control under unclear circumstances on Narekatsi 6 dead-end street in Vanadzor and collided with a concrete barrier.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver of the Mercedes and two passengers were hospitalized with bodily injuries at the Vanadzor Medical Center.

Nearby, a water pipeline break caused water from the upper part of the neighborhood to flow onto Narekatsi street, creating a layer of black ice on that section of the road, which contributed to the accident.

Senior investigator Roman Petrosyan from the Traffic Police is preparing materials regarding the incident. The police are working to determine the identities of the driver and the injured individuals.
