Criminal Case Opened Following Soldier's Death

The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that on February 9, 2020, at around 07:45, a conscript soldier, Private Valeri Nelson Petrosyan, was discovered unconscious within the territory of Military Unit N.

He was transported to a military hospital, where his death was recorded.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated in the second garrison investigative department under Article 376, Part 2 of the Armenian Criminal Code (Negligence by a state or official person in relation to service, if it led to serious consequences). The investigation is ongoing.
