Father Kills Schoolgirl in Turkey Over Her Having a Boyfriend

A horrific incident has occurred in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Police have discovered the body of a schoolgirl by the roadside. The girl's father, Şeyma Yıldız, has surrendered to the police and confessed to killing his own daughter with a firearm.

The reason Yıldız provided was that he became enraged upon learning that his daughter had a boyfriend and was in a relationship with him.

It is worth noting that the issue of femicides remains a significant problem in Turkey. Numerous organizations have raised their voices against the unprecedented number of femicides occurring in the country. In 2019, 474 women were killed in Turkey, with the perpetrators often being their spouses, sons, or partners. As of January 2020, 27 women have already been murdered in Turkey.
