Murder in Vanadzor: 20-Year-Old Arrested

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 57-year-old resident of Vanadzor.

One individual has been arrested. On February 5, 2020, at 14:10, a resident of Vanadzor reported to the Vanadzor Bazum Police Department that around 14:00 on the same day, she had discovered her husband’s body in their home in the Bulgarian Second District of Vanadzor, showing signs of violence.

A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The 57-year-old man has been recognized as the victim. Preliminary data indicates that the victim sustained fatal injuries during a dispute with a resident of the same district at his home.

The suspect, born in 2000 and a resident of Vanadzor, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering the 57-year-old man. During the investigation, a site examination was conducted, several witnesses were interrogated, confrontations were held, forensic medical and forensic expert examinations were appointed, and samples were taken.
