General Titles Awarded to Several Officers

According to decrees issued today by the President of Armenia, several officers of the Armed Forces of Armenia, the Military Police, and the National Security Service have been awarded general titles.

The commander of the joint troop grouping of Armenian and Russian forces, Major General Tigran Janibek's Parvanyan has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General. Colonel Arthur Seryozha Baghdasaryan, the head of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, has been awarded the rank of Major General. Colonel Levon Vazgen Shahumyan, head of the Military Counterintelligence Department of the National Security Service, has also been awarded the rank of Major General.

Earlier, it was reported that Major General titles were awarded to the Deputy Chiefs of Staff of the RA Armed Forces Andranik Makaryan and Tiran Khachatryan.
