Breaking: The Russian Government Has Resigned
The Russian government has resigned, reports meduza.io. The government of Russia, led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, announced its resignation. This was stated moments ago by Medvedev himself.
The resignation follows a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin directed at the Federation Council of Russia. Medvedev stated that under the circumstances where President Putin has spoken about necessary constitutional amendments, they find it appropriate to resign and allow the president to implement the desired changes.
Putin, in turn, thanked the government members, although he noted that "not everything has worked out." He promised to meet with each cabinet member individually in the near future.
