Loretsyan Does Not Accept the Charges Against Him, Says Defense

The former Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Gevorg Loretsyan, does not accept the charges brought against him. This was reported to NEWS.am by his defense attorney, Levon Sahakyan.

It is recalled that on December 5, Gevorg Loretsyan, his driver, and the president of one of the football clubs were arrested on suspicion of bribery and were later detained.

According to preliminary data obtained by the National Security Service (NSS), the deputy minister provided support to an entrepreneur in the procurement of sports equipment and apparel for the needs of organizations under the ministry. This entrepreneur is the president of one of the football clubs operating in Armenia and simultaneously the effective head of several supplying companies. In exchange for winning the tenders, the deputy minister, with the assistance of his driver, reached an agreement to receive a particularly large bribe.
