The Decision on Narek Sargsyan's Detention Challenged
The decision regarding the detention of Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of Serzh Sargsyan, has been appealed to the Court of Appeals. In response to a question from "Haykakan Zhamanak," Sargsyan's lawyer Arthur Pivazyan stated that they consider the decision to be unsubstantiated and unjustified. He emphasized, "We believe that such decisions should not be made at all, regardless of who the detained person is, or who the defender is." The lawyer did not wish to provide further details about the criminal case at this time.
It is noteworthy that Narek Sargsyan's detention was reaffirmed on December 24, when the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan, approved the request of the preliminary investigation body.
