Difficult Road Conditions Reported by Ministry of Emergency Situations

As of 18:00 on December 26, difficult road conditions have been reported across the territory of Armenia. The Vardenyats Pass from the Gegharkunik region and the Sotk-Karvachar road are difficult for trucks with trailers due to patches of black ice. The Ministry of Emergency Situations advises truck drivers to use tire chains.

There is snowfall at the Vardenyats Pass (from the Gegharkunik region). According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open to all types of vehicles. The ministry recommends that drivers travel exclusively with winter tires.

Construction works are being carried out on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen road, resulting in a closure for trucks. An alternative route has been established via the Dilijan-Noyemberyan-Bagratashen road.
