In the Illegal Adoption Case of Children, Two More Individuals Arrested Alongside Razmik Abrahamyan: New Details
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the illegal adoption of children by foreigners.
According to the statement, under the authority of the Investigative Committee’s Department for the Investigation of Particularly Important Cases, specifically focused on human trafficking, the sexual integrity of minors, and the illegal circulation of narcotics, arrests were made on suspicion of illegally separating a child from their parents with preliminary agreement by a group of individuals.
The arrested individuals include Razmik Abrahamyan, the director of the 'Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology'; Arshak Jerjerian, the deputy director; and Liana Karepetian, the director of the 'Yerevan Orphanage'.
It is noteworthy that earlier in connection with this criminal case, charges had been filed against one person under the second part of Article 34-168(2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, specifically a resident of Yerevan born in 1976.
