17 Police Officers Injured in Clashes with Protesters in Ukraine, Several Arrested
Seventeen representatives of law enforcement were injured during protests near the building of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada. Following clashes between protesters and police, 26 citizens were arrested. This was reported in a conversation with journalists by Zoryan Shkyryak, an advisor to Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, as conveyed by the TASS agency.
He noted that the police acted within the framework of the law and did not engage in clashes with citizens. According to the ministry's representative, the number of injured police officers may change. Two policemen are receiving inpatient treatment at a medical facility, Shkyryak reported.
