VIDEO: Embezzling Loans and Taking Them Out of the Country is Bad — Heated Discussion in Parliament

During an extraordinary session of the National Assembly discussing the draft law on ratifying the loan agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for "Budgetary, Economic and Public Sector Management Development Policy Loan," MP Gevorg Papoyan from the "My Step" faction stated: "The main issue is how loans are utilized. For a long time, these loans have been used inefficiently because certain individuals have embezzled and taken that money out of the country. As a result, there have been no new economic outcomes. When we use loans for targeted purposes, they yield specific results. Loans are not bad; what is bad is to take them and spend them inefficiently."
