Pashinyan Explains Why He Opposes Politicalization of NSS and Police Chiefs' Positions

The head of the government explained today in the National Assembly why he opposes the proposal put forward by the LHK faction, which suggested politicalizing the positions of the heads of the NSS and the police.

Nikol Pashinyan stated that they have no issue with the content and agree with it, but they see a problem from a legal standpoint. He mentioned that if they decide to politicalize, for example, the position of the police chief and his deputies, those police officers would be stripped of their military ranks.

Otherwise, according to Pashinyan, representatives of the political team would have to be presented for those positions with ranks of colonel and general.

Pashinyan emphasized that this conflict has remained unresolved.
