Major Traffic Accident on the Artani-Karakert Highway: 1 Dead and 14 Injured

A major and tragic traffic accident occurred in the Aragatsotn province today. At approximately 19:30, a KAVZ bus crashed into a cannon attached to a KAMAZ truck in the administrative area of Artani village along the Armavir-Artani highway under still undefined circumstances.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, one person died on the spot, and 14 others, including 2 critically injured, were transferred to medical centers in Talin and Armavir, with some being moved to various hospitals in Yerevan.

Personnel from the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military police department in the Armavir province are also present at the scene. Police are working to identify the drivers, the deceased, and the injured individuals.

Witnesses at the scene reported that before the KAVZ collided with the KAMAZ, there was a prior collision between the KAMAZ and a ZIL truck. Before military police arrived at the accident site, the PAZ bus, which was transporting residents of Aragatsavan village, crashed into the cannon attached to the KAMAZ.
